Banjo Kazooie

Untitled

This was a Christmas present that I finally finished this past weekend. I felt so bad, and I was so relieved to get it done. But boy was it a bear, no pun intended, to make! It wasn't necessarily difficult, but there were so many pieces and parts to make it just plain fiddly!

The patterns for Banjo Bear and Kazooie are by Beverley Arnold. The bear can be purchased from Ravelry here, and Kazooie is a free download here. I'm always amazed by patterns this detailed! I can't imagine how much time it must have taken to perfect it!

Banjo has a back pack for Kazooie to fit into.

Kazooie has pipe cleaners in his wings and one in his neck to keep his beak heavy head up! Pretty clever!

For the crochet specifics, I used Hobby Lobby's I Love this Cotton Yarn with an E (3.5mm) hook for everything but the eyes where I used a C (2.75mm) hook. It really was a great pattern, it just took me a lot longer than I expected.

And because I didn't finish this for Christmas it has made me think about trying to work on Christmas gifts throughout the year. Of course this is a nice idea. We'll see if I'll actually be able to do this, or if I'll end up waiting and turning into my usual crazy mess working up to the last minute!

  1. Gosh yes, I can see how such a project would take ages to do, there's so much of it! I like the blue back-pack!
